The Orange Buzz

Half-Orange Theme Songs!

I’ve gotten a number of letters from readers suggesting songs that represent the Meeting Your Half-Orange mindset, and I have to say, I love ’em all! Music can really help “pop the clutch” of your dating positivity: Playing the right song can remind you that your efforts are on target and worth it! I thought I’d post a few of them here, so if you haven’t thought to find a theme song for your love search, here are three that might work. They represent how you might feel after you read the book and become a full-fledged dating optimist!

Song #1: Michael Bublé’s “I Just Haven’t Met You Yet.” This was originally suggested by Whitney, but others of you have said you listen to it, too! It’s my favorite of the bunch.

Some lyrics:

“I might have to wait, I’ll never give up
I guess it’s half timing, the other half’s luck
Wherever you are, whenever it’s right
You’ll come out of nowhere and into my life . . .
Yeah, I just haven’t met you yet.”

Song #2: “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog. This was a song sent by Stephanie, and it’s cute and spot on! As Stephanie says, “Yes, I know this seems ridiculous, but I am a true Disney fan, and find many of their themes to be perfectly relevant in
everyday life. This is what I keep telling myself. I’m almost there, getting closer
to finding the One and the dream relationship that I want.”

Some lyrics:

“But I know exactly where I’m going
Getting closer and closer every day
And I’m almost there, I’m almost there.”

Song #3: Sugarland (Jennifer Nettles) singing “Settlin’.” This one was suggested by Peggy.

Some lyrics:

“Settlin’…I ain’t settling for just getting by
I’ve have enough so-so for the rest of my life
Tired of shooting too low, so raise the bar high
‘Just enough’ ain’t enough this time
I ain’t settling for anything less than everything.”

What do you think? Do you like any of these songs as your Half-Orange theme song? Or do you have any others that help get you in the right frame of mind?
